Highlights of Accomplishments: 2013-2015

Welcomed members from disbanded Country Hills Garden Club

Visited Stroud Water Research facility

Potted up bulbs in November to deliver to Friendship House at bloom time

Initiated bylaw revision after program by DFGC Parliamentarian, Wanda Davis

Conducted bird topiary workshop using small boxwood plants

Held a “Mystery Bag” design challenge

Honored Pearl Mead and Nanci Hardam with state life memberships

Created a Habitat for Humanity Planters

Participated in club sales fund raiser at DFGC meetings

Celebrated 50 years as DFGC club member

Participated in Red Clay Valley Cleanup

Learned about “Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids” program and supported

this initiative at North Star School

Established club website to promote club and share photos

Held a joint meeting with Hoe n’ Hope Garden club – Christmas designs

Filled Christmas stockings for Friendship residents

Created recycled material ornaments for DFGC

Continued our maintenance of Tweed’s Tavern landscape and provided outdoor holiday     decorations

Began once a month landscape help to Center for the Creative Arts in Yorklyn

Tended large planter at Lamborn Library in Hockessin

Received awards for “It’s All About Trees”:

CAR – Environmental Concern Award

DFGC – Conservation Award

Garden Gate – Stewards of the Environment Award

National Garden Clubs – Certificate in Appreciation of award participation
