Delaware Center for Horticulture (DCH)

From September through April, Gerri, Pat and Marybeth will donate 3 hours each week working on the DCH Grounds Crew. Our club assists Martha Stevenson, Landscapes Supervisor to keep their gardens looking beautiful and at their best for the many visitors and tours at the Trolley Square site in Wilmington. Members also assist with the Rare Plant Auction, DCH’s largest fundraiser. Pat Boyd, our Master gardener, has served as the Staging Chairperson of the event donating hundreds of hours of dedicated work to help DCH organize this event.

Philadelphia Flower Show

Every year members volunteer at the Philadelphia Flower Show. Last year Barbara, Mary Lou, and Marybeth assisted the teams of professional judges and gained some insight into the design of floral arrangements and the criteria for those Blue Ribbons this past year. “Scottie Dog” was a winner! Brenda has dedicated many years to organizing teams to support judges during the show. In the coming year, the theme for the Flower Show is “Wonders of Water.” The date of the show are: March 3 – 11, 2018 at Philadelphia Convention Center. Club members will be there again to volunteer!

Wilmington Garden Day

Joan organized volunteers needed as garden hosts and tour guides for this year’s annual event. Joan, Gerri and Barb contributed over 12 hours of service to this important event.
