“Tweed’s Kitchen Garden”
Location: Lamborn Library Building
Valley Road, Hockessin, DE 19707
Host: Tracy Lea-Dorsey
Program: In 2006 our club began planning the landscape at historic Tweed’s Tavern. In the ensuing years additions and alterations were made to the plantings during our regular garden maintenance. Now the finishing touches are almost complete on thenew Exhibit Building adjacent to the Tavern. The Hockessin Historical Soc. (HHS) asked Countryside to design and install a period-appropriate Kitchen Garden between the two buildings. This garden and the uses of the plants will be an integral part of the educational tours planned at Tweed’s Tavern. The program today will be an open discussion led by Pat Boyd on the design, plant choices and maintenance plans. A member of HHS will join us to explain the objectives of the garden and the educational tours.
